DOENÇAS, LEIS NATURAIS E BIOLOGIA: O "NÚCLEO RÍGIDO" DE UMA HIPÓTESE DE LEITURA

Mantidos, o foco e referências de sempre, resolvi  reler esse livro. Li-o, em 2018. Dado o evento atual, retornei ao "núcleo rígido" da obra: "the rise of mental illness from to 1750 to the present".

“Este livro é uma contribuição única e importante para a história médica. Até agora, a loucura, e sua aparente ascensão ao longo dos séculos, tem sido interpretada como um fenômeno social e econômico. Torrey e Miller insistem na realidade biológica da doença psiquiátrica e examinam as razões pelas quais sua prevalência contemporânea foi tão profundamente incompreendida.”

A essa tese dos autores é que me prendo e foi o que me trouxe de volta a sua releitura. Há as questões do texto, sobre "[...] a realidade biológica da doença psiquiátrica" que me fizeram reler um outro autor: Rupert Sheldrake; este aparece, em algum de seus textos defendendo uma "tese" de que as "leis da natureza" como as que entendemos, não são fixas, e tendem a se alterarem e reorganizarem. Enfim, essa é hipótese de releitura para os textos relacionados aqui; sem fugir da temática, recentemente descrita aqui, sobre a Bioética e às leituras que geralmente tenho feito. 

Em certa medida, minhas releituras, nesse caso se somam e procuro relações nos temas.
